Dear Sir or Madam,

Thank you for the opportunity to apply for the position of Graphic Designer with Pink Stork. Currently, I am enrolled at Flagler College in the Graphic Design program with a 3.79 GPA. I have experience with typography, branding, UX design, advertising, and social media marketing. At Flagler College, my experience has provided me the opportunity to develop my interests and skills in these areas I have mentioned. However, branding is one of my favorite areas of study. Branding is an important area of focus because it allows designers to be innovative and share their innovation with consumers. I enjoy how complex branding is when it applies to so many mediums of design (psychology, science, history, etc.). As a designer, I had the opportunity to create new brands and re-brand existing brands.

For example, I re-branded your package design with Chris Smith’s branding class back in spring, 2024. An innovative design was created to target women and children. It was a fun project because of the concept development and learned a new area of branding: package design. Branding is also helpful when it connects to an issue or cause. I had the opportunity to develop a campaign that focused on an issue. For example, I created a new brand with a Glioblastoma Awareness campaign that honored patients who had the cancer. my passion was gravitated to this since it mattered to the world and I. Branding is engaging this way since it interacts with people emotionally and informatively. Branding is also important when designers consider intention. I made a type specimen book that depicted the history of the typeface, the typeface weights, and why it is relevant to branding. Brands use typefaces and imagery to fit the identity of the product or group they wish to serve.

Making a competitive brand is essential for consumers to identity Pink Stork with pre and post-natal health. Expanding into the early childhood market means competing with large, national brands and requires a viewpoint from a generation that lives through multiple social media outlets. As someone who experiences social media everyday, I could provide this viewpoint.

I am diligent and hard-working. My passion for Graphic Design combines my artistic and academic interests. Currently, I am a member of the President’s Leadership Academy which is a leadership program that develops students as leaders. My resume includes awards for many of my artworks such as two in the 2021 Scholastics Art and Writing Fairfax County region. I believe that I would contribute greatly to the position of Graphic Designer with such an outstanding brand, Pink Stork. If you require any further information, please do not hesitate in contacting me. I look forward in working with you in your decision-making process for this position.

Sincerely,

Peter M. Mankin
