Dear Sir or Madam,
My name is Peter Mankin. I am enrolled at Flagler College in the Graphic Design program with a 3.79 GPA. I have experience with typography, branding, UX design, advertising, and social media marketing. At Flagler College, my experience has provided me the opportunity to develop my interests and skills in these areas I have mentioned. However, advertising is one of my favorite areas of study. Advertising is a personal favorite since it allows designers to communicate their solutions to consumers. Advertisements engage the public to issues with ethos, logos, or pathos methods applied through design methods. I enjoy how advertisements take up so much of society, too. Everywhere consumers go, they observe an advertisement media that persuades you to act or change your mind. I love advertisements since my design experiences revolve around advertisement and branding design.
I am the founder of a student organization at Flagler College called SOCI-ABLES. As the current club President, I have developed many social media pages for the Human Library Project, Disability Awareness Week, Out of Sight Dinner, and Tabling Fair. All of these flyers were pivotal to developing successful events. Each flyer had a purpose to have students attend events and learn from the events. I learned that brands create a set of advertisements which are redundant, but keep people engaged. All of educational values not only apply to this brand, but also also the Futura specimen book and Glioblastoma website. I made a Futura book to educate consumers about the typeface’s history and its application to brands. Secondly, the Glioblastoma Cancer website that I created was dedicated to my mom and grandmother who passed away from this disease. It was important to engage with audiences to educate them on the importance of a graphic designer’s intent. Secondly, it was critical to have people participate in an issue with the passing of someone close to them. For all projects, It was important that they be accessible, interesting, and inclusive of good graphic design principles.
What I can contribute to your advertising is a set of designs that could be exclusive to First Coast Cultural Center. Each design would highlight the good works and engages visitors in the inclusive message provided by the First Coast Cultural Center. By using color, typefaces, sudden imagery, and typography, you can lead the consumer to an engaging outcome.
I am diligent and hard-working. My passion for graphic design combines artistic talent and educational interests. I am currently a member of the President’s Leadership Academy which is a leadership program to develop as a leader. My artworks won in the Fairfax County Scholastics Art and Writing Competition Silver and Gold Key Regional Awards, 2021. I believe that I would contribute greatly to the position of Graphic Designer with such an outstanding organization, the First Coast Cultural Center. If you require any further information, please do not hesitate in contacting me. I look forward in working with you in your decision-making process for this position.
Sincerely,
Peter M. Mankin
